In progress: Our most exciting free blogging theme
It’s been almost a year since we released Parallax One – our first attempt to go it alone (without help from WordPress.org) and give back to the community. Long story short, it worked well… but I think we can do better. Here’s what I mean:
As you may already know if you follow our work, lately I’ve been very focused on optimizing our conversion rates on KCCSB and CodeinWP. And while this is working and has helped our financial situation, I’ve developed this strong feeling that we can move things forward.
See, sometimes I just feel like a part of what Jeff Hammerbacher once mentioned… and not in a good way:
The brightest minds of my generation think about how to get people to click on ads. That sucks.
So fast forward to today, a year after the release of Parallax One, it’s us We’re in the process of offering our best work for FREE again.
But we go one step further. Except for one New free WordPress theme that we’re almost done, we plan to release all future add-ons for free as.
So no paid extras, no locked features, never premium add-ons. Just a free premium quality WordPress theme and lifetime free add-ons.
“Is that even sustainable? What’s the catch?”
Basically there is no catch. Our current development is based on our other projects (thanks paid customer) so we’re covered for now. And if the market ever changes, we’ll put some of our time into keeping this thing alive.
Why? This is part of our mission to give back to the community that has helped us get to where we are right now. Without the people (you) we don’t exist.
So what’s this new thing called?
Zilla is a beautiful blogging theme coded by Claudiu (KCCSB team) and designed by a super talented designer. Ashley Swiss (Many Thanks, brian).
In short, it’s our best work. And you can (will be able) to get it for free.

If you don’t have the means to contribute but have some ideas, just file an issue on GitHub and if enough people think it’s valid, it’ll probably get done.
The theme is a work in progress at the moment but as soon as we have a full review from themereview.co we will release it to the public and upload it to WordPress.org as well (although it may take a while to get online there).
Our #1 goal right now is to make this accessible and available to as many people as possible. If you need a good-looking (and powerful) blogging theme for free, this is perfect for you!
